Three Revs chosen for CONCACAF Gold Cup roster

By: Sabin | May 24th, 2007

Roster and Details

Three key players with the New England Revolution were named to the CONCACAF Gold Cup Roster this week. Leading MLS scorer Taylor Twellman, Iron Man Steve Ralston, and Michael “smal wall” Parkhurst have been tapped to report to camp in California on June 3rd.

It’s been known for a while that with Bob Bradely has US MNT head coach, MLS teams would see a fair amount of their key players reporting for US duty, and the Revs are contributing more than any other team, according to Revolution press releases.

While this is certainly an honor, it begs the question of what it does to the Revolution’s makeup. More on this later (as work continues to beckon), but with Twellman, Parkhurst, and Ralston potentially out of the line up, the 17 points the Revs have tallied so far could become far more important as they move through the summer with key players absent.

Who might replace them? What will the tactics look like? How will we match against our upcoming opponents? Stay tuned, dutiful readers. Exploration to commence!
