PREVIEW: It’s time, it’s time
By: Sabin | November 17th, 2007This is a big year for our Revs, and I can barely contain myself around here. The house is a shambles; our dinners are rushed; our collective blood pressure is higher than adjustable by medication. Why is all this going on? MLS Cup 2007.
What strikes me the most this season, outside of the Revs’ performance in the off-season, is the involvement of the entire Revs organization. Free buses for fans to D.C., soccer-looking lines at Gillette Stadium, Robert Kraft showing up at the RBNY game in Revs clothes: this is an organization that seems to be practically willing the Revs to win this cup.
When all is said and done, though, this MLS Cup final will go down as a declaration by the MLS that in a year of designated players, a greater-than-normal international involvement, and expansion that the best teams are those who are home-grown, consistent, and focused on comradeship over impressive single players.
Viva la Revs and Viva la MLS!
More to come …

I think the Cup win will be very helpful for the Revs. I think teams need to learn to win, often. And that would seem to be the case for the Revolution. Having lifted one trophy, albeit a vase
, it should help them to get over the hump in the MLS. Or at least that is my cognitive dissonance and I’m sticking to it. Good luck Revs!Posted from
