Dube Goal Drops San Jose

By: Trevor | March 23rd, 2009

Kheli Dube’s 55th minute goal saw the Revs start the 2009 campaign with a win on Saturday. This was the Revs’ first win the Bay Area since July 22, 2000. Despite only being able to dress 17 players as a result of Injuries(Taylor Twellman, Steven Rallston, Gabriel Badilla, Mauricio Castro and Zack Simmons) and suspension(Chris Albright) the Revs were able to pull off an unspectacular road win. The Revs will be on the road this week at a New York Red Bulls team that was taken apart by Seattle on Saturday, and will be looking to make it 2 for 2 on the season(any score predictions?).

Game Notes:

-Matt Reis made his 150th start for the Revolution, making him the first goalkeeper in club history to start 150 matches.
-The average age of the Revolution’s start lineup was 25.1 years old, including two professional debuts(Kevin Alston and Darrius Barnes)
